outside our apartment windows:
obnoxiously loud roosters who we are now very used to, pigs screaming (either getting fed or slaughtered) who also come with their great stench, raindrops the size of buckets on our roof and windows, crickets, lizards, & spiders trying to slip through the cracks of the windows, barbed wire wrapping around to keep us safe and to help us feel safe, dense jungle, beautiful and the most luscious tropical flowers.
inside our apartment windows:
4 loud girls, learning and growing together every week here in pohnpei, through many dirty dishes, cockroach hunts, moth attacks, baby lizards, a thousand (and counting) spiders on our walls, ceilings, and (oddly) our shower, singing at the tops of our lungs, laser light shows, laughing till we cry and crying till we laugh, strengthening our friendships, strengthening our relationships with Christ, stressing over lesson plans and grades and teaching, countless prayers going up to Him, countless praises, countless blessings pouring over us every day while here in pohnpei.
i don't blog so people don't quite know what i have been doing other than through the pictures i post. i'm on my second journal this year & i wish to share some of my entries in the future.
i've said this to a handful of people but this year i have grown in so many ways and i am so content. although it has been the most stressful & busiest year of my life, i've never been happier. so genuinely happy God has sent me here. •
