EEN STERK BOVENLIJF NODIG? DOE PUSH UPS!! - - Push ups zijn geweldig. Indien je ze goed uitvoert pak je er je borstspieren, je triceps (dat zijn je 'kipfilets' :-D), schouders en buikspieren mee én doen ze dus niet onder voor de alom geliefde 'Bench Press'. - - PERFECTE TECHNIEK = ESSENTIEEL VOOR SPIERGROEI! Ook al lijkt het soms nog zo stoer om heel zwaar te 'trainen': Een oefening met 50 kg goed uitvoeren is altijd beter dan dezelfde oefening met 100 kg met een slechte techniek doen. - - Cliente @emmawolters2 is beresterk en kan al wel aardig wat push ups achter elkaar uitvoeren. Om te zorgen dat ze haar spieren optimaal blijft stimuleren bij deze oefening, hebben we haar techniek even weer onder de loep genomen. Ze heeft toestemming gegeven om haar techniekfeedback online te plaatsen, zodat iedereen er van kan leren!! Ze is niet alleen super sterk, maar dus ook super aardig! :-D - - OUDE TECHNIEK: In het eerste, oude filmpje voerde ze push ups uit op een step en ze kon redelijk wat reps eruit knallen, maar ze ging in haar rug 'hangen', haar ellebogen gingen 'naar buiten' en ze nam op den duur langer pauze tussen de reps in. Dit zijn allemaal veel voorkomende manieren om te smokkelen met je push ups. Gelukkig pakt Emma haar training altijd serieus aan en ze heeft dan ook hard gewerkt om haar push ups te verbeteren. - - NIEUWE TECHNIEK: In het tweede filmpje voert ze de push ups uit op een hogere positie, zodat de oefening lichter wordt. Op die manier kan ze haar techniek weer opnieuw perfectioneren. Zoals je ziet houdt ze nu haar romp mooi strak en haar ellebogen gefixeerd, zodat ze haar borst en triceps maximaal kan laten werken. De reps worden nu ook in een vloeiend tempo uitgevoerd!! - - Check ALTIJD je techniek en zorg dat je, net als Emma zo zwaar traint dat je je laatste reps met veel moeite uitvoert, máár dat ook die reps uitgevoerd worden zonder te smokkelen! - - "There's no knowledge that is not power (MK3)" & "there is no power in having a crappy technique (Carlo)" - - - Carlo

When your doing the usual post weekend #abcheck and notice the arm pump after today’s @alexia_clark upper body day 💪🏻 . . Today’s workout was one of my absolute favourites. Upper body has always been one of my favourites to train but today’s would have to be one of the all time best!! Loved every combo, especially C4 with the cable machine. I’m already starting to feel the #domsin my triceps (no tuck shop arms here 👌🏻). As the workouts seem to be a bit shorter so far this week I’m really concentrating on form and increasing my weights on each round. The highest for today was 38lb on the dumbbell pull over and 114lb on the close grip pull down woohoo 🙌🏻 BTW how hard were those renegade push ups?!?! ☠️ . . Looking forward to tomorrow’s leg day. Before on top. After on bottom for both. 41 days for her. 38 days for him. Feeling great just over halfway through the initial #mytransphormation challenge 8 week sprint. @sandyclayborn has been absolutely killing it. She’s been getting her time in at the gym, focused on her nutrition and not letting excuses get in the way. In regards to nutrition, we are both using a carb-cycling, IIFYM approach. This allows us to fend off cravings by eating whatever we want within the limits of Macros per meal, per day. We’re eating Cookies 🍪, pancakes 🥞, tacos 🌮, bacon 🥓, and yes ladies...she’s even drinking wine 🍷! Don’t restrict your eating to certain types of foods high in fat if you love carbs lol. If fats and Keto are your thing and you’re having success, keep at it. It’s just not for us. We prefer to eat what we want, when we want it. Within moderation of course. Regardless, you should Choose a long term nutrition plan that works for you that you will follow! That’s the key 🔑! The next 8 week #mytransphormation challenge sprint starts in Early March. @sandyclayborn and I are putting together a supper group so we can guide and coach people through the next 8 Weeks. I lost sight of my goals, I lost my motivation and I used food for comfort... (mmmm nachos... ps I wish I was one of those people who stop eating when stressed 🤣🤔) ••• 25 days ago I was devastated, embarrassed and ashamed. ••• I was soooo embarrassed to go back to the gym- I thought people would see me and think ‘what has she DONE to herself’... and to be honest I’m sure there were people who thought/said exactly that... ••• 25 days into the @granitept 8 Week Challenge and I’m bloody glad I didn’t let fear of what other people thought of me stop me from getting back to what I love most and feeling freaking amazing and strong! (Mentally & Physically 💪🏾) ••• So to celebrate, here’s a #tranformationtuesday: me bawling after my initial weigh in with @leanlikelacey for the #granite8wk Vs today- feeling freakin awesome and strong! It’s the voice that sets rules around food, whispers or yells that foods are good or bad, clean or a cheat, or too “expensive” to budget in. It judges our every move with food. When the food police are in charge, any misstep becomes either a success or failure. We don’t have to live this way! - My food police have been in charge for so long. Here’s a variety of examples of my food police voice over the years: * (Stomach Growls) You just ate a big breakfast 2 hours ago , you can’t possibly be hungry. *choosing a lighter option at lunch to make sure I’ve saved enough calories for dinner. * replacing foods I truly enjoy with low cal versions to make sure I don’t “over do it”: fake butter spray/no calorie products/ pumpkin or banana bread with protein breads/sugar free everything/low cal ice cream/reduced guilt chips * You ate wayyyy too much at dinner. You better use all of that glycogen during your training tomorrow. * A croissant for breakfast? Without anything else? No way. Must have fats and protein with it ALWAYS. * “Spending” calories on things I didn’t truly enjoy just because they fit better. - These thoughts can keep you trapped and frankly, they feel like hell(to me anyway). This is where your Ally comes in. Stay with me...I’m serious.😊 My nutrition Ally has my back and she doesn’t have the diet voice that screams, “you must do and be perfect!” You know she/he is in there fighting for you! I don’t notice guilt when I allow her in; Versus always feeling judgement/anxiety when the food police chime in. The nutrition ally simplifies and offers info from a non-judgmental place. A place that doesn’t think I need to constantly chase a smaller size and challenge biology. - How I’ve started to understand and quiet my food police: Check in with thoughts, make observations, write them down, challenge them. To move forward, I’ve had to challenge these thoughts and allow my Ally to step in more. 😊 What your thoughts on the Food Police? *These are my opinions and shouldn’t be replaced by advice from an RD.
